Brembo is still a step forward compared to the competition, with its new adjustable derivation radial brake master cylinder, developed through their experience of racing at the highest level. The major innovation is the new patented device RCS (Ratio Click System) that allows for easy adjustment of the lever ratio with the simple rotation of an eccentric adjuster, placed on the front of the lever.
RCS system function: switchable between 18mm and 20mm ratios, with the RCS-Ratio Click System you can change from one configuration to another, allowing for different riding characteristics. Red spot on the eccentric adjuster means 18mm position while black spot identifies 20mm position. This solution makes it possible to adapt to different braking conditions, dry or wet, more or less grip, for use on the track or on the street. It is virtually is like having two different master cylinders in one.
The master cylinder body is forged aluminium then subsequently CNC worked by lightening mill before finally the surface is hard anodised. The new radial brake cylinder reflects the geometry, dimensions and features of that used in MotoGP.
Moto GP floating piston: 19mm diameter bore with high-level components including piston, seals and push rod which are inherited directly from the Superbike and MotoGP championship equipment, meaning reduced manufacturing tolerances and excellent smoothness.
The brake lever itself is made up of two main components allowing for a fold up design, greatly reducing the risk of the lever snapping in the event of a crash (this is another patented system that only allows the lever to fold on impact, eliminating the possibility of the lever accidentally folding during use, a great safety feature).
Micro-switch: another fantastic feature is a special housing to accept a micro brake light switch making this radial master cylinder suitable for road use, without the need for banjo bolt pressure switches.
Lever contrast springs: high load springs to guarantee the constant contact between the eccentric adjuster and the push rod, resulting in safety and longer life of various components.
