We pick back up with the RSV4-RF with some very nice updates.
First up, the bike needs some race bodywork. This was provided by the customer and will be painted after fitment. This included a new subframe and fairing stay, which trimmed around 2lbs from the OEM pieces, but required some modification to fit properly.
Next, it was time to strip things back down a bit to finish thumb brake routing and install our fork kit, among other things.
For the fork kit, we are using Ohlins FKR catridges. This is a new damping system developed in Moto2 and is now widely used in almost every top-level championship.
Along with installing this kit, we used our chassis software to find an optimal handling balance for this motorcycle and set the chassis accordingly.
Next, we ditched the behemoth stock battery and replaced it with an Aliant YLP14. This is a bit bigger than we'd normally use for a track-only machine, but it offers a substantial boost in cranking amps and for coaching duties, will never let the rider down. It shed a whopping 6lbs from the OEM unit.
Tex made a rectifier / regulator relocation bracket as well.
